Join us for a special community planting day to help restore the beautiful wetland at Okoromai–Clansman Reserve — a hidden gem at the end of the Whangaparāoa Peninsula, just before Shakespear Regional Park.
This reserve has been designated a Significant Ecological Area, and with your help, we’re working to transform it into thriving habitat for native birds, lizards, insects and plant species.
The goal? To create natural stepping stones so wildlife from Shakespear Sanctuary can spread further along the peninsula — and your efforts will make that possible!
🪴 We’ll be planting 500 native trees, shrubs and grasses, and everyone is welcome — bring whānau, friends, neighbours, and your good energy.
🧤 What to bring: Gardening gloves, a spade (if you have one), warm layers, gumboots (it's a wet site), water and snacks.
Come see the progress we’ve made, explore the site, and help grow something meaningful!
