Auckland Council service and facility hours vary by area during the summer holidays.

24-hour service

Visit the Auckland Council website for information on all council services and facilities.

If you can’t find the answer to your questions, our 24-hour call centre is open throughout the holiday period.

Please note that the Orewa Library offering council services will be open and available on non-public holiday days.

Rubbish and recycling

Auckland Council will continue to collect your rubbish and recycling over the summer break, but there are some changes to collection days in December and January.

Normal collections will resume starting from Monday 6 January 2025.

Local Board offices

Local board offices are closed over the Christmas period and will reopen in January or February.
