We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Cafe Manager to lead our team and oversee the daily operations of our bustling cafe.


As the Cafe Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring exceptional customer service, managing staff, maintaining inventory and upholding quality standards.


Expected hours: 30 – 45 per week

As part of this role, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards (but not limited to):


â—Ź Hire, train, and supervise cafe staff, including baristas, servers and kitchen personnel.

â—Ź Develop and implement efficient operational procedures to maximise productivity and minimise waste.

â—Ź Create staff schedules and ensure adequate coverage during peak hours.

● ​​​Ensure staff hours are accurately recorded on a daily basis.

â—Ź Monitor inventory levels and place orders for supplies, ingredients and equipment as needed and price goods according to budget.

â—Ź Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in compliance with health regulations.

â—Ź Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and timely manner.

â—Ź Oversee the preparation and presentation of food and beverages to ensure consistency and quality.

â—Ź Ensure daily production minimises items becoming sold out and reduces wastage.

● ​​​Ensure display cabinets are kept full and aesthetically pleasing.

â—Ź Oversee the management of cash register transactions and balancing.

â—Ź Manage finances, including budgeting, cost control, and revenue generation.

â—Ź Plan menus in consultation with the chefs.


Qualification, Experience and Attributes Required


â—Ź Three years of previous experience in a similar role in the food and beverage industry, preferably in a cafe or restaurant setting or a relevant level 7 diploma or higher qualification.

â—Ź Understanding of written and spoken English.

â—Ź Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and point-of-sale (POS) systems.

â—Ź Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.

â—Ź Punctual, organised and capable of multi-tasking with attention to detail.

â—Ź Ability to work in a team environment.

â—Ź Ability to work quickly and effectively in a busy environment.

â—Ź Maintain grooming and uniform standards.

â—Ź Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.

â—Ź Ability to work on feet for extended periods.

â—Ź Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.


Pay & Benefits


â—Ź Full time permanent employment.

â—Ź Minimum of 30 hours/week guaranteed.

â—Ź Pate rate ranges between $29.66/hour-$31.00/per hour.
