This fixed term position is for a registered Occupational Therapist who has a particular interest in palliative care and wants to develop and foster their skills and knowledge in a hospice setting.

Working collaboratively as part of the multi-disciplinary team, you will provide community and inpatient based care and support primary care providers.

With support and mentorship from the Senior Occupational Therapist, you will care for a diverse caseload of patients who live across the North Shore, Hibiscus and Warkworth/Wellsford regions.

You’ll respond to the occupational therapy needs of patients and their families by:

• Receiving, responding to referrals and managing your own patient caseload
• Implementing and evaluating assessment and treatment plans for all patients based on a patient-centred, goal-directed approach
• Playing an active role in the multidisciplinary team, communicating cases clearly and contributing to patient management
• Proactively engaging with professional development and learning opportunities
• Building and maintaining links with community agencies

The development position can be full time for 6 months, or part time up to a maximum of 12 months.

There is no on call work however, we do operate three sites across the North Shore and Rodney areas, and travel is required.
