All Auckland educational facilities have been ordered to close until February 7thAuckland schools to delay start to the first term of the year.

According to Auckland principals, the Education Ministry has ordered a week-long shutdown of all education organisations in the region.

They say that until February 7th, all Auckland schools, early childhood programmes, and tertiary institutions must be closed for physical instruction.

The National Emergency Management Agency asked the ministry to help reduce traffic on Auckland roads while crucial infrastructure was being repaired, and the ministry responded by issuing the instruction, according to what principals were told.

The order extends from Pukekohe in the south to Wellsford in the north.

Schools were supposed to reopen between tomorrow and February 7 but Auckland is now on its fourth day of an emergency because of the flooding.

About 20 Auckland schools were severely impacted by flooding on Friday and the weekend, according to Auckland principals.

They stated that other schools had slipping hazards or floodwater-damaged grounds.
