Arrest Made After Cannabis Plants FoundOver 200 Cannabis Plants Seized in Raid

One person has been arrested following the discovery of a suspected cannabis grow house in Rothesay Bay, North Shore.

Police from Waitematā executed a search warrant at a property in Rothesay Bay yesterday, uncovering more than 200 cannabis plants in various stages of growth.

Acting Inspector CJ Miles of Waitematā East Police says the search came after visitors to the address reported a strong smell of cannabis emanating from the property.

“A total of 208 plants were seized for destruction, and one person was arrested at the scene,” Acting Inspector Miles confirmed.

"Police believe these plants are part of a larger organised crime group operating across Tāmaki Makaurau, and investigations are ongoing."

Acting Inspector Miles credited community involvement and vigilant police efforts for this successful operation.

“This result was a combination of great work by concerned community members and our community-based Police teams,” he said.

“It’s pleasing to take this illegal drug off the streets and out of the hands of our community.”
