AT Pushes Pothole Fixes Before SummerCoast drivers urged to report and snap hazards.

Auckland Transport’s Pothole Promise is back, with road crews aiming to fix 95% of potholes on major roads within 24 hours.

On all other sealed roads, repairs will be made within five working days.

The campaign, running from Sunday, October 20 to Saturday, November 16, encourages Aucklanders to report potholes—and where possible, include a photo—to help teams find and fix them faster.

AT’s Group Manager for Road Asset Maintenance and Renewals, Alan Wallace, says the drier spring weather makes this the best time for a major repair push.

“Last year our contractors repaired more than 6,000 potholes across the region and we’re committed to repairing them as quickly as possible,” he said.

Potholes form when water seeps into cracks and weakens the surface, a familiar frustration for drivers on the Hibiscus Coast.

With more Council and Government funding, AT is also increasing resurfacing work to stop potholes forming in the first place.

“We’re asking Aucklanders to help us keep roads safe by reporting potholes when they see them—and if you can, please include a photo,” Wallace added.

Photos help crews confirm exact locations and severity, while new reporting tools allow AT to update residents once a repair is complete.

Coasties can report potholes directly at at.govt.nz/potholepromise to get them fixed before the busy summer season.
