Auckland median salary listed at $72,800 annually.MoneyHub says the median New Zealand salary is $69,836, with a 16% gender pay gap.
MoneyHub’s analysis of Stats NZ data puts the median at $69,836, up from $45,760 in 2015.
It estimates real wage gains of about 15–20% after inflation.
The average annual salary is $81,484, and the median hourly rate is $34.25.
The analysis says earnings peak at ages 45–49, with a median of $81,900.
It also says the gender pay gap is 16.0% nationally, down from 25.5% in 2010, and the widest age gap is 20.9% for 50–54 year olds.
For Coasties, Auckland at a $72,800 median, behind Wellington at $76,544.
The lowest listed region is Nelson/Tasman/Marlborough/West Coast at $63,232.
