If you picked up pâté for an easy platter, it’s worth doing a quick fridge check.

The Ministry for Primary Industries says L'Authentique brand Chicken & Duck Parfait is being recalled due to a failure of food safety controls, and the affected product should not be consumed.

The recall applies only to L'Authentique Chicken & Duck Parfait in a 100g glass jar with a ‘Use by’ date of Monday, August 24, 2026, shown on the lid.

It was sold at supermarkets and retailers throughout New Zealand, so it could be sitting in Hibiscus Coast homes even if it was bought during a normal grocery run.

No other L'Authentique products are affected.

There have been no reports of associated illness, but if you have eaten it and have any concerns about your health, seek medical advice.

If you have the affected jar, return it to the retailer you bought it from for a full refund.
