The Hibiscus and Bays Local Board is extending an invitation to the community to apply for local grants and facilities grants.
These grants offer an opportunity to fund various projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing the local area.
The local grants, typically awarded once or twice a year, cater to projects requiring higher funding, exceeding $2,000.
Applicants or organisations are required to undergo a detailed online application process and commit to accountability measures by signing a formal funding agreement.
Focusing on Community Priorities
Building Stronger Connections
Emphasising community connectivity, economic vitality, environmental protection, and accessible recreational spaces, the grants programme aims to foster a cohesive and resilient community.
The grants programme supports outcomes such as a connected community, a robust economy, an enhanced environment, and accessible open spaces, according to a representative from the Hibiscus and Bays Local Board.
Facilities Grants
Investing in Community Infrastructure
In addition to local grants, the facilities grant is available to assist in planning or developing various facilities within the Hibiscus and Bays Local Board area.
This includes activities such as needs assessments, feasibility studies, and small building works.
Funding Priorities
Community-Centric Projects
Grant applications aligning with priorities such as community connectivity, economic empowerment, environmental stewardship, and recreational accessibility are encouraged.
Additionally, projects promoting health, physical activity, youth engagement, and artistic endeavours are given priority consideration.
Encouraging Community Engagement
Inclusive Project Partnerships
The board aims to support projects that leverage multiple funding sources, involve community contributions, foster collaborations, and engage local volunteers, ensuring a sense of ownership and pride in community initiatives.

Interested parties are reminded that applications for both local grants and facilities grants are open until April 12, 2024.
