Morning commuters heading south on State Highway 1 still facing heavy delays today after a multi-vehicle crash near Okura closed the right lane.

The crash happened on the southbound side between Silverdale and Oteha Valley.

NZTA have advised us that emergency services are at the scene, and NZTA says drivers should pass with care and expect delays until further notice.

A detour route is being managed by emergency staff, and motorists are urged to follow their directions.

NZTA has not given an estimated time for reopening the lane, and clean-up work is ongoing.
