The incident, involving multiple vehicles, happened just before 11:20 near the Wilks Road Overbridge, close to Dairy Flat.
Two people have been moderately injured, according to emergency services.
One southbound lane remains blocked, and traffic is building quickly in the area.
Motorists are being urged to avoid the route if possible or allow extra time for their journey.
