A significant haul of firearms was uncovered in a search operation in Dairy Flat on Friday, leading to the arrest of a 42-year-old man.
Police staff, investigating a dispute that allegedly involved a firearm, executed a search warrant at the property, leading to the discovery of multiple rifles, pistols, and ammunition.
According to Detective Sergeant Peter Law, the firearms were in various stages of re-manufacturing and were deemed extremely unsafe to operate.
"The firearms were in various stages of being re-manufactured when they were recovered. Concerningly, in the state we found them in, they would be extremely unsafe to operate," Detective Sergeant Law said.
A 42-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the discovery and will face firearms offences in the North Shore District Court.
"We are continuing to make enquiries around the re-manufacturing of the firearms at this address. Our team are pleased that this is a further six firearms that have been taken out of the circulation in the community," Detective Sergeant Law added.
This operation follows the arrest of a 37-year-old man earlier in the week, who was charged with various firearms and drugs offences related to the initial dispute.
The successful operation has taken six firearms out of circulation in the community, and police are continuing to investigate.
