Destination Orewa is getting ready for its last events for the 2022/2023 season.
There are three more big events being planned and a movie night - before winter arrives.
But the community has something to look forward to as this is the time when they plan the exciting 2023/2024 season.
On Saturday, 25 March, Orewa will be filled with bikes of all shapes and sizes for the Orewa Bike Cruise.
Although the event is fully registered, there will be a carnival and food trucks at the end.
This event will be held at the Western Reserve (behind the youth centre) from noon until 5pm.
Remember to bring cash for the amusement rides.
On Easter Saturday, 8 April, the Orewa Sandcastle Competition will be held.
It is a free event and only 50 entries will be allowed.
Registration is between 12.30pm and 1pm, then it kicks off until 3pm.
There are amazing prizes to be won, from $500 for experienced builders and $250 for novice builders.
A week before the competition (from Monday, 3 April), there will be a 20-ton sand sculpture built on Moana Reserve.
This will take a week to build and will stand at the reserve until Monday, 24 April.
On Saturday, 15 April, the Boulevard Arts Fiesta will take place.
It was postponed in February due to the effects of the cyclone.
Daylight savings would have kicked in by then, so the time has been shortened from 11am to 5pm.
It will be held on the Hibiscus Coast Highway through Orewa and will see about 150-plus stalls, food trucks, art markets and amusement rides.
Hellen Wilkins, operations manager at Destination Orewa said she has also organised a Movie in the Park event on Saturday, 1 April at Gulf Harbour Marina.
Moana will be screened at 3pm and the action-packed Top Gun Maverick will be shown at 5pm.
There will be food trucks, but picnic baskets are also welcome.
There will be a free bouncy castle and face painting.
Don’t forget the chairs, jerseys and blankets!
