Locals in Waitoki were shaken this past weekend after a fatal crash claimed the lives of two people.

The two-vehicle collision occurred on Kahikatea Flat Road at around 10 pm on Saturday.

Emergency services responded to the scene and both drivers were rushed to Auckland Hospital in critical condition.

Tragically, both individuals later passed away from their injuries.
