If you were up early yesterday, you’ll know ...yep, it was cold.
One local shopkeeper told me it was just 4°C on their drive in. Those chilly starts look set to stick around for a while.
MetService says a big high is settling over the country, bringing a week of calm, settled weather.
That means Coasties can expect crisp mornings and sunny afternoons, perfect for a beach walk or catching up over coffee (once the frost lifts, of course).
Meteorologist Oscar Shiviti says the clear skies are great for getting outside, but they do come with a trade-off: chilly, frosty mornings.
A front may brush the far south by Friday, but up here, we’re in for a calm stretch.
So rug up in the morning, hang the washing out by lunchtime, and take a brolly just in case. We all know how quickly things can turn.
