Gold coin, boots, and help for youth.New Zealand marks Gumboot Friday on Friday, November 7, raising funds for free youth counselling that’s in high demand.
Founded by mental health advocate Mike King, Gumboot Friday offers free counselling for anyone in New Zealand aged 25 and under.
While there’s public funding, organisers say demand keeps growing, so donations help more young people access support when they need it.
How to take part is simple: wear gumboots, drop a gold coin, and spread the word.
All donations to the Gumboot Friday Fund support the administration and delivery of the service for young people 25 and under across the country.
If you’re 25 and under, visit GUMBOOTFRIDAY.COM for free, timely counselling.
For immediate support at any time, text or call 1737 to speak with a trained counsellor.
