Final season sparks chats and 80s tunes. If your teen has been swapping theories nonstop, you are not alone.
Stranger Things has wrapped after nine years, with the final episode now out and the whole sci-fi horror ride complete on Netflix, yet it still feels like there are a million unanswered questions.
It’s aimed at viewers aged 14 to 29, and on the Hibiscus Coast it’s been the kind of ending that spills into school chats, group messages, and dinner-table recaps, including in our family.
The show’s 1980s homage has also done something unexpected for parents, it has pulled a lot of old music back into the mix, with period details like rotary phones and walkie-talkies helping set the mood.
So while teens argue over what it all meant, you might also find yourself back with Prince’s “Purple Rain” and “When Doves Cry”, Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill (A Deal with God)”, David Bowie’s “Heroes”, The Clash’s “Should I Stay or Should I Go”, and Yello’s “Oh Yeah”.
The complete soundtrack for the final season is scheduled for physical and digital release on Friday, January 30, 2026.
Stranger Things first aired in 2016 and stars Millie Bobby Brown, Winona Ryder and David Harbour, and if you have not started yet, all five seasons are there to stream on Netflix.
