Highway closures scheduled for maintenanceMaintenance work to cause disruptions for motorists.

The NZT has announced that maintenance work will be carried out on State Highway 1 over two nights next week, which may cause disruptions for motorists.

The work will take place in two stages.

Firstly, the section of highway between the Silverdale interchange and Warkworth will be closed northbound from 10pm on Tuesday, June 11, until 5am the following morning.

The Silverdale northbound on-ramp, Millwater northbound off-ramp, Orewa northbound off-ramp and on-ramp, Puhoi northbound off-ramp, and Warkworth northbound off-ramp will also be closed during this time.

Motorists are advised to use the Hibiscus Coast Highway and Old State Highway 1 as a detour.

The second stage will take place from 9pm on Wednesday, June 12, until 5am the following morning, and will affect the section of highway between Oteha Valley Road and the Silverdale interchange.

The Oteha Valley Road northbound on-ramp, Silverdale northbound off-ramp, and Dairy Flat BP Service Station off-ramp and on-ramp will be closed.

Motorists are advised to use Oteha Valley Road and Dairy Flat Highway as a detour.

Please note that this work is weather dependent and may be postponed in the event of bad weather.

Motorists are advised to check the NZTA Journey Planner for updates.

Additionally, ramp closures and lane restrictions may be in place before the advertised closure times, and on-ramp closure times are advertised every Friday on Auckland’s NZTA Traffic Bulletin.

The maintenance work will involve resurfacing the road and vegetation control, which may cause increased noise levels.

Motorists are advised to plan ahead and allow extra time for their journeys.

The NZ Transport Agency apologises in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.
