Hornet Tracking Finds North Shore NestsTen nests found using radio transmitters.

Biosecurity New Zealand has detected ten yellow-legged hornet nests on Auckland’s North Shore using radio tracking technology as the eradication response accelerates.


Biosecurity New Zealand commissioner north Mike Inglis small nests were found, one in Takapuna and two in Forrest Hill, all within the intensive surveillance zone.


More than 1,080 traps are operating, with no detections beyond the 11km area.





For Hibiscus Coast residents, there is no direct impact at this stage.


The response area is centred on the North Shore, and there have been no detections outside the defined zones.


Public reporting remains central.
