Locals are being urged to check their cupboards after a recall of Hydr8 Spring Water (600 ml x 24 pack) due to the potential presence of blue plastic fragments.
The batches in question are marked with best-before dates of 10 JUN 27, 11 JUN 27, or 16 JUN 27.
New Zealand Food Safety says the recall affects stock sold at selected supermarkets across the North Island.
The issue?
Soft blue plastic shreds may be floating in the bottles, posing a possible choking hazard.
“If you’ve got any of the affected water bottles at home, don’t drink them,” says Vincent Arbuckle, deputy director-general.
“Take them back to the store for a refund, or throw them out.”
The product is no longer on shelves.
