A major milestone was reached on the Hibiscus Coast today, February 12, 2025, with the official opening of the John Fair Drive bridge.

This new 94m state highway crossing connects Milldale directly to surrounding communities, providing residents with easy access to local amenities.

The steel and concrete composite structure, which began construction in 2022, features 10 large steel girders.

These girders enable the bridge to support vehicles, pedestrians, and the 'Orewa 3' 726mm diameter water main.

The bridge's completion is expected to greatly benefit locals, enhancing connectivity and convenience within the area.
