Coasties, a local home renovation company founded in Auckland, has become one of the largest in the world.
Refresh Renovations, started in 2009 to address inefficiencies in the building industry, now has over 170 franchised operations in North America, the UK, Australia, and New Zealand.
Founder Jon Bridge attributes their success to a focus on business processes rather than traditional trade skills.
“We needed to attract business people who were more process and customer-focused,” Bridge said.
The company aims to reach $1 billion in annual sales within the next decade.
The firm’s unique franchise model, which prioritises process and customer experience, has significantly reduced dispute rates.
“Our complaint rate is well under 1%,” Bridge noted.
With the New Zealand renovation market valued at $9 billion annually, the US market’s $570 billion presents a significant growth opportunity.
Refresh Renovations is also investing in IT, developing proprietary software to streamline project management and enhance customer satisfaction.
