Local services planned for Anzac DayCoasties remember.

Coasties are invited to join the Auckland RSA (Returned Services Association) in commemorating Anzac Day on Thursday, April 25th.

Services will be held throughout the region, offering opportunities to reflect on the sacrifices of servicemen and servicewomen, past and present.

Local Dawn Service and Civic Events

The Hibiscus Coast RSA will host a Dawn Service at 6am, following an assembly at 5.45am at their headquarters on Vipond Rd.

Later in the morning, Civic Services will be held at Silverdale War Memorial Park at 9am and back at the RSA at 11am.

Additional Services and Commemorations

A separate service will take place at the Upper Waiwera Cenotaph at 2.30pm, followed by an afternoon tea.

This year also marks significant anniversaries in military history.

Mid-May will see commemorations for the brutal Battle of Cassino, and June 6th will be D-Day, remembering the Landings at Normandy.

Auckland RSA Welcomes All

The Auckland RSA encourages everyone to attend the Dawn Service at the Auckland War Memorial Museum.

This year, the service features a dawn service at 6am, followed by a special performance by a centennial choir.

Large screens and refreshments will be available for attendees.

Poppy Appeal and City Lighting Up

Leading up to Anzac Day, key locations across Auckland will be illuminated in poppy-red to support the annual RSA Poppy Day appeal on April 19th.

The Auckland Harbour Bridge, War Memorial Museum, and Vector Lights will all participate in this display of remembrance.

Warbirds Take to the Skies

The skies above Auckland will come alive with a flyover by the New Zealand Warbirds Association.

On both Poppy Day and Anzac Day, the warbirds will take flight, performing a city-wide display.
