The Hibiscus Coast bus station is proudly featuring incredible Māori art on its glass windows.

Auckland Transport is featuring a Māori waka on several of their bus stations around the city. 

The art is painted on the windows at the terminals. 

The Hibiscus Coast bus station is said to be sitting at natural crossroads, which connects the northernmost parts of the network, from Wellsford to Whangaparāoa, the North Shore and the Auckland city centre. 

The waka, at the entrance to the station, conveys the history of the movement in a landscape defined by relationships between tāngata (people), whenua (land), and moana (sea). 

Designs incorporated into the tauihu (bow) and taurapa (stern) of the waka, recognise mana whenua as kaitiaki (guardians) of te taiao (the environment).
