Mitre 10 MEGA Silverdale opens its doors next Friday7 days to go.

The long wait is over!

After months of waiting, Mitre 10 MEGA Silverdale is opening its doors next week.

Not only will the mega centre have a grand opening day on 11 August, but they are also planning a weekend of celebrating the new store, 11-13 August.

Located at the new Highgate Business Park at 35 Colin Chester Drive, the 11,300 square metre store is excited to showcase a new concept that has been developed for future Mitre 10 MEGA stores.

The store manager, Sam Singh, is looking forward to opening the doors at 7am to the community, and says there is something for everyone at the store including a state-of-the-art treehouse playground to keep the little ones happy.

The Mitre 10 team are excited to offer these services to the community: click and collect, free trailer loan, key cutting, rug doctor delivery service, gas bottle swap, Soda Stream refills, paint tinting, pool and water testing - and they’re dog friendly.

The new store will have 6,000 square meters of retail section, 2,000 square meters each for the garden centre and drive-thru section, and 1,500 square meters for the yard.

Mitre 10 MEGA Silverdale intends to not only be a world-class retail store, but it will be a full-range store with over 40,000 items of stock available.

The stock ranges from everything you need for your automotive to your workshop supplies.

The top 100 building product lines are racked at waist height for quick easy access, and there are offices available for trade customers to meet with clients and suppliers.

On the retail side, the store layout has also been redesigned to showcase key categories that make Mitre 10 a destination - paint, tools, garden supplies, fixings and fastenings, and outdoor living.

Each of these hubs brings together product ranges, accessories and adjacent categories in a way that makes sense for customers, making it easier to find everything for a project in one space.

About 120 new jobs are being created when Mitre 10 MEGA Silvedale opens its doors.

The owner, Cam Caithness owns Riviera Hardware Holdings, and owns the Warkworth, Whangaparaoa, Albany and New Lynn stores and he is all for the community.

“We’re looking forward to opening the doors and welcoming the local community into our new store. Mitre 10 regulars will notice some exciting new experiences, alongside the familiar warm welcome and quality service and advice Mitre 10 is known for,” he says.
