Motorists urged to be courteous when Manly fire truck is parking

The Manly Volunteer Fire Brigade is appealing to the community not to get frustrated when the traffic lights outside the station are flashing, as it indicates that the truck is reversing into the station.

An incident occurred recently when a motorist took her frustrations out as the firetruck was backing into the Manly Station from the busy Whangaparaoa Road.

“When you see the traffic lights flashing and the truck with its beacons on in the middle of the road reversing into the station, please stop and wait for the lights to stop flashing.

We are only thinking of yours and our safety,” appealed a spokesperson at the Manly Volunteer Fire Brigade.

The station thanks all those motorists who conscientiously stop at the flashing lights and wait for the truck to park.

“Your actions not only play a vital role in ensuring the safety of the dedicated firefighters but also pedestrians and fellow motorists.”
