Coasties, get ready for some motorway closures that may impact your travel plans.

The NZTA has announced a series of closures for motorway improvements, which were delayed due to bad weather.

The closures, which start at 9 pm and finish at 5 am, will affect various sections of the Northern Motorway (SH1).

Here's a breakdown of the closures:

• Southbound lanes between Orewa off-ramp and Silverdale on-ramp will be closed on January 27, along with the Orewa southbound on-ramp and Millwater southbound on-ramp.
• Northbound lanes between Silverdale off-ramp and Orewa on-ramp will also be closed on January 27, along with the Silverdale northbound on-ramp.
• Additional closures will take place on January 27-30, affecting northbound and southbound lanes between Tristram Avenue off-ramp and Northcote Road on-ramp.
