From tomorrow, State Highway 1 southbound will be closed between the Silverdale interchange and Oteha Valley Road each night until Wednesday 4 September.

Closures run from 9pm to 5am.

The work is part of NZTA’s planned motorway maintenance.

During this time, the Silverdale southbound on-ramp and the Oteha Valley Road southbound off-ramp will also be closed.

A signposted detour will send traffic through Twin Coast Discovery Highway, Dairy Flat Highway and back to Oteha Valley Road.

Coasties heading into the city late at night, or on airport runs, should allow extra travel time.

The closure won’t affect daytime traffic.

All work is weather dependent, so dates may shift if conditions don’t play ball.
