A new development is being built in Milldale that will see a mixture of convenience retail, medical and high-quality shops.
The Milldale Neighbourhood Centre is being built at the junction of Waterloo Reserve (Maryvale Road) and Henry Tayler Rise.
According to Scott Kennedy, director of the Broadway Property Group, the construction will start mid-to-end March and be completed in the summer of 2024.
“The area is rapidly expanding and we want to have the amenities for those in the area,” said Scott.
“We want to be focused on the community and aim to have local businesses at the neighbourhood centre.”
The new shopping centre will provide a mix of convenience retail, medical and high-quality office space to service the surrounding Millwater residential development. I
t has also been carefully designed using high-quality products and the complex will be extensively landscaped with mature trees.
The neighbourhood centre will be made up of two parts, built on either side of Henry Tayler Rise.
They will be built in an L-shape and each side will have 12 units, with an upstairs section on the corners.
Some of the units on the one side have been earmarked for an estate agency, home builders, wine and spirits, a fish and chips shop, a dairy, Japanese food, a cafe and a noodle bar.
Scott said there are three units available and would like to see a local beautician, hairdresser, bakery, pizza or burger place opening their doors there.
On the other side will be a medical centre: doctor's rooms, a pharmacy, a dentist and a vet.
Scott is keen to have other local health and wellness businesses in the available units, like a physio or a gym.
The units will be between 70 and 325 square meters in size.
