Glenfield Shop Targeted For Third Time!

Chartwell Food Centre in Glenfield faces another blow as it falls victim to ram raiders for the third time this year.

Despite a metal grill, burglars smashed their way in, leaving the shop owner frustrated.

A stolen vehicle left at the scene is now under police forensic scrutiny.

Investigations are ongoing, and the police are working with property owners to assess potential losses.

Mysterious Death Near Waiheke Island

Tragedy strikes as 48-year-old Lee Douglas Perry from South Auckland is found dead near Waiheke Island.

Perry, who had travelled for work, was discovered in the water, 14 kilometres away from his burnt-out car.

Police treat the death as unexplained and seek information on Perry's movements.

They also appeal for details about his white Mazda Demio with the registration HLZ228 on Waiheke Island.

Downtown Carpark Fate Hangs Uncertain

The fate of Auckland's Downtown Carpark Building hangs in the balance as the council considers dropping two conditions in its sale to Precinct Properties.

The proposed removal of a cycle and scooter "hub" and the demolition of the Lower Hobson Street flyover are the remaining hurdles in negotiations.

Opposition to the almost 2000 space carpark's demolition is led by downtown landlord Andrew Krukziener.

The confidential talks suggest potential costs and the public awaits the decision on the landmark's future.
