State Highway 1 northbound from Oteha Valley Road to the Silverdale interchange will be closed for maintenance from Sunday 17 August to Thursday 21 August, between 9pm and 5am.

The NZ Transport Agency says the work is weather dependent, so dates could change.

Ramp closures and lane restrictions may start before the mainline closure times.

The closures will affect drivers heading north, with the following ramps also shut:

• Oteha Valley Road northbound on-ramp
• Silverdale northbound off-ramp
• BP Service Station Dairy Flat off-ramp and on-ramp (no public access)

Signposted detours will be in place, with the recommended route via Oteha Valley Road and Dairy Flat Highway.
