The New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) has announced upcoming maintenance work on State Highway 1 (SH1), impacting Oteha Valley Road to Silverdale interchange and the Grand Drive overbridge.

Oteha Valley Road to Silverdale Interchange - Sunday, 10 March (9pm-5am)

Prepare for a full northbound closure on Oteha Valley Road to Silverdale interchange on Sunday, 10 March, from 9 pm to 5 am.

The following ramps will also be closed:

• Oteha Valley Road northbound on-ramp
• Silverdale interchange northbound off-ramp
• BP Service Station Dairy Flat off-ramp and on-ramp (no public access)

Detours and Recommendations:

Signposted detours will guide you through alternative routes.

For this closure, use Oteha Valley Road and Dairy Flat Highway.

Please plan accordingly as increased noise levels are expected due to various maintenance activities, including vegetation control and roadwork.

Important Note:

O Mahurangi Penlink project closures are scheduled from Sunday, 10 March, to Thursday, 14 March, between Oteha Valley Road and Silverdale.

Grand Drive Overbridge (Local Road) - Monday, 11 to Wednesday, 13 March (9pm-5am)

A full closure on the Grand Drive overbridge at the Orewa interchange is planned from Monday, 11 March, to Wednesday, 13 March, between 9 pm and 5 am.

During this time, there will be no access to State Highway 1 from the interchange.

Ramp Closures:

• Orewa interchange northbound off-ramp
• Orewa interchange northbound on-ramp
• Orewa interchange southbound off-ramp
• Orewa interchange southbound on-ramp

Ara Hills Residents:

Traffic management will assist with traveling across Orewa interchange to and from Grand Drive.

Expect short delays for worksite safety. Reduce speed and follow traffic management instructions.

Recommended Detours:

• Traveling from Orewa to SH1: Use Millwater southbound on-ramp or Silverdale interchange.
• Traveling north on SH1 to Orewa: Exit at Silverdale interchange or Millwater interchange.

Important Warning:

After Millwater, the next exit will be Puhoi, incurring toll charges if you turn around.

If heading south on SH1 to Orewa, turn around at Silverdale interchange and head north to Millwater northbound off-ramp.
