What started out as a small mobile company operating out of a panel van, has grown into a massive successful business with four subsidiaries.

The Ze Group in Silverdale was started by qualified builder, Zane Dykman when he was still in his 20s. 

Zane worked for a construction company in Auckland for 10 years, before venturing out and starting his own company – Ze Group.

“I got the ultimate exposure when I was with the company and I still regard the owner, David Evans, in high esteem,” says Zane. 

“I felt it was time for me to step out on my own, and start my own company.”

When he first started, Zane and his wife Chloe, bought a panel van and he worked as a mobile service. 

He kitted it out and travelled around Auckland doing construction jobs. 

As time went on, Zane realised that he needed a bigger workspace, so moved from his home in Stanmore Bay to larger premises in Agency Lane. 

He has since moved to a 700-square-meter building in Foundry Lane, Silverdale. 

The Ze Group family has four subsidiaries: Ze Build; Ze Spark; Ze Plumb and Gas; BMH Earthworks, Cartage and Hire.

Zane is proud of the five-year-old business and says qualified staff, with different trades, are on hand to help with all building and renovation needs, from A to Z.

Zane says he loves being on the Hibiscus Coast as “everyone cares about other people.” 

They are very involved with the community and can be seen sponsoring numerous sports teams on the Hibiscus Coast: bowling, sailing, soccer, basketball, and netball, as well as schools and colleges in the area too. 

Ze Build’s name is also proudly displayed on the Westpac Rescue Helicopter too.
