Penlink clears the path aheadThe Duck Creek Road site compound and access point.

Temporary traffic management will be in place on sections of Duck Creek Road due to the construction of new site access and laydown areas for Penlink Road.

The traffic management will be between Messenger Road and 182 Duck Creek Road at certain times during the day.

This is due to heavy machinery that will be on the road to assist with the clearing works.

Some delays are expected and road users are asked to take care of and allow extra time for their journey.

The Penlink project crew are preparing the sites for development as they make their way towards Whangaparaoa.

The enabling works - the preparation of a site in readiness for the first stage of development - are underway to establish the site access and laydown areas.

These areas allow the heavy machines to be delivered as they start clearing vegetation and trees.

As the construction progresses, other areas will be used for site access and temporary laydown.

These are very important steps for the preparation of the main construction works that will begin in October.

Vegetation clearing has started in the forest area west of Duck Creek Road.

The vegetation was felled and mulched, and larger trees have been logged and stored on site.

Some of these logs will be removed at a later stage.
