Police have today named the person who died following a vehicle incident on Florence Avenue in Orewa over the weekend.

He was 41-year-old Joseph Hart.

Detective senior sergeant Mike Williams confirmed his death on Sunday night in the hospital after being critically injured on Saturday on Florence Ave in Orewa.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, 7 January in the Victor Eves Park car park.

Mr Hart was taken to hospital in critical condition but sadly died.

Enquiries into the circumstances of the incident are ongoing and Police are not seeking anyone in relation to this matter.
