Police have located the man sought in relation to the Ponsonby homicide investigation deceased.

Detective Inspector Chris Barry addressed the media outside the College Hill Police Station, stating that the man was found at a rural address in the Broadlands area.

The death is currently being treated as unexplained, with a post-mortem examination yet to be completed.

However, it is believed that the deceased is the man sought by Police in relation to the homicide investigation.

Auckland City CIB will work with Bay of Plenty CIB counterparts to investigate this development.

The wider Police investigation into the homicide remains ongoing, with the team continuing to gather information and make enquiries on behalf of the Coroner.

Police have confirmed that they are not currently seeking anyone else in regards to this investigation.

The victim's family and the family of the man sought have been notified of these developments.

Police have thanked the public for their assistance in providing information regarding the identity of the man sought.
