Coasties who’ve made the trip to Albany since Popeyes opened there in July 2025 won’t have to travel much longer.

The fast-food chain has confirmed a new restaurant for Dairy Flat, bringing its world-famous Louisiana-style fried chicken, biscuits, and sides closer to the Hibiscus Coast.

Popeyes first arrived in New Zealand in 2024 and has quickly become a hit, with fans lining up for hours at each new launch.

Founded in New Orleans in 1972, the brand now operates more than 4,300 restaurants worldwide and 10 across New Zealand, with another 10 expected to open in 2026.

The new Dairy Flat store is already hiring, with job listings live now at popeyes.careercentre.net.nz

Applications close Saturday, October 25.

That means it won’t be long before those unmistakable orange boxes and southern flavours become part of the local food mix.
