Secondary school routines change on Wednesday, November 5 as a nationwide PPTA strike hits school days.

Most state secondary schools for Years 9-13 are affected, with many closing or finishing early at 1:15pm.

NCEA exams will go ahead unaffected.

Across November, families will also see planned closures tied to end-of-term routines and staff-only days.

Boards can close schools for four half-days for curriculum reasons if they give six weeks’ notice. These dates differ by school.

On the Hibiscus Coast, Whangaparaoa College has a Teacher Only Day on Friday, November 14. It is an MOE curriculum day and the school will be closed.
