The Silverdale Volunteer Fire Brigade is having a recruitment open night tonight.

The open night is for those who are keen to join the fire brigade as a volunteer.

It will be held tonight, Tuesday, 10 October, at 7pm at the Silverdale Volunteer Fire Brigade in Red Beach.

During the night, you will meet dedicated firefighters, hear real-life stories, and get a close-up look at the state-of-the-art equipment and fire trucks.

You will also learn about training options, and the qualifications required to become an operational firefighter or part of the operational support team (OSU).

It's about making a difference in your community, being part of a close-knit team, and facing challenges head-on.

Anyone from all backgrounds and experiences is welcome.

What are they looking for?

You must live within three minutes of the fire station, be 16 years and older, have a solid commitment to public safety, have excellent teamwork and communication skills, dedicated to continuous learning and training.
