Reporting criminal activity on Hibiscus Coast busesAuckland Transport has teamed up with Crime Stoppers to make our public transport safer for all.

Auckland Transport is appealing to those who witness criminal behaviour on any Hibiscus Coast bus to report it immediately.

This follows the arrest of two teenagers who allegedly robbed two men at the Hibiscus Coast bus station last week.

Although the incident did not occur on the bus, the transport service wants to ensure the buses, and the station, are safe for everyone.

AT teamed up with Crime Stoppers to make public transport safer for everyone.

They are appealing to people who witness criminal activities, fare evasion and anti-social behaviour to report it via text, call or email.

The reporting will be anonymous, and you must add as much information as possible to help: what the person is doing, wearing, any facial markings, and the number of the bus.

In one of the criminal cases earlier this year, a youth offender was tracked down by the name of his school on his blazer.

You can send a text to Crime Stoppers number: 4043, who will relay the information to AT.

AT will investigate and deploy the information to Transport Officers.

This texting service is not a replacement for 11.

If you witness an incident that requires an immediate response from emergency services (police, fire or ambulance), then call 111.

Crime Stoppers is a well-established charitable organisation that enables the public to provide anonymous information about crimes without the fear of being identified.

Crime Stoppers works to create a safer New Zealand for all.
