The New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) wishes to inform the public about upcoming maintenance work on State Highway 1 (SH1) between Greville Road and Orewa.

The scheduled works will occur on the following dates, with specific closures and detours in place:

Tuesday, 5 December 2023 - Silverdale Interchange to Grand Drive, Orewa

• Full northbound closure.
• Closure of Silverdale northbound on-ramp, Wainui northbound off-ramp, and Grand Drive, Orewa northbound off-ramp.
• Recommended detour: Twin Coast Discovery Highway, West Hoe Road, and Grand Drive to the Orewa northbound on-ramp.
• Vehicles over 3500kg advised to use Twin Coast Discovery Highway and Old State Highway 1 to Warkworth northbound on-ramp.
• Increased noise levels due to road resurfacing and vegetation control activities.

Wednesday, 6 December 2023 - Oteha Valley Road to Grand Drive, Orewa

• Full northbound closure.
• Closure of Oteha Valley Road northbound on-ramp, Silverdale northbound off-ramp, BP Service Station Dairy Flat off-ramp and on-ramp (no public access), Wainui northbound off-ramp, and Grand Drive, Orewa northbound off-ramp.
• Recommended detour: Oteha Valley Road, Dairy Flat Highway, Twin Coast Discovery Highway, West Hoe Road, and Grand Drive to the Orewa northbound on-ramp.
• Vehicles over 3500kg advised to use Hibiscus Coast Highway and Old State Highway 1 to Warkworth northbound on-ramp.
• Increased noise levels due to road resurfacing and vegetation control activities.

Thursday, 7 December 2023 - Greville Road to Silverdale Interchange

• Full northbound closure.
• Closure of Greville Road northbound on-ramp, Oteha Valley Road northbound off-ramp, Oteha Valley Road northbound on-ramp, and Silverdale northbound off-ramp.
• Recommended detour: Albany Highway and Dairy Flat Highway.
• Increased noise levels due to road resurfacing and vegetation control activities.

Closures begin at 9 pm and conclude at 5 am unless specified otherwise.
