Rodney Neighbourhood Support AGMRodney Neighbourhood Support annual general meeting on August 17 to be held in Orewa.

Rodney Neighbourhood Support is gearing up for its annual general meeting on August 17, promising an informative evening filled with distinguished guest speakers from various local agencies.


Open to both the public and members of the support group, the event will be held at the St Chad’s Anglican Church in Centreway Rd, Ōrewa, commencing at 7 pm.


Among the esteemed speakers are police representatives, including Sergeant Brett Hanly and two community constables, who will share insights on community safety and address concerns related to law enforcement.


In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to engage with police personnel from the neighbourhood support area, which spans from Albany to Mangawhai, and Bethells Beach to Kaiwaka.


Adding to the roster of guest speakers is Leah Hide, a community advisor from the Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) agency, who will discuss fire safety measures and emergency preparedness.


Sandra Sweetman, an esteemed member of NZ Community Patrols Ōrewa, will also take the stage to talk about the important role community patrols play in safeguarding neighbourhoods and enhancing public safety.


Furthermore, the meeting will host Gary Brown, Chair of the Hibiscus and Bays Local Board, and Ivan Wagstaff, a distinguished member of the Rodney Local Board.


They will provide valuable insights into the local governance and community development initiatives in the region.


Organisers anticipate that the event will not only offer informative sessions but also serve as a great opportunity for attendees to foster social connections and engage in meaningful discussions.


A delightful supper will be provided to enhance the evening's convivial atmosphere.
