You’d better watch out, you’d better not cry - the 2023 Orewa New World Santa Parade is approaching faster than we would like!
The local parade is the biggest parade north of the bridge and is a definite favourite for the whole community, as it is a wonderful way to welcome in the festive season.
It is due to hit the streets at 4.30pm on Saturday, 25th November (the rain date is the 26th).
The community is invited to take part in the parade or bring a float (either drive a vehicle, walk in the parade or perform in a group).
The registration form can be found at https://orewabeach.co.nz/santa-parade/
This community event is the perfect opportunity to promote commercial and non-commercial businesses, clubs, teams and schools too.
The parade will have a variety of colourful floats, lively marching bands, cartoon characters and most importantly, the jolly man himself - Santa!
All those participating are asked to dress up for Christmas and blast Christmas music from the car.
The Orewa Surf Sounds Concert and Fireworks event will NOT be taking place after the parade this year. It will take place in March 2024.
To keep the festivities going, there will be carnival rides and food trucks at the end of the parade, operated by the Rotary Club of Orewa.
