Locals along the Hibiscus Coast Highway experienced traffic disruptions on Friday afternoon as firefighters responded to a large scrub fire in the area.
Crews from Silverdale, East Coast Bays, and Manly fire stations were called to contain the fire.
According to Fire and Emergency, the fire burned through approximately 200 by 30 metres of vegetation at its peak.
Five fire trucks, a tanker, and two support units were deployed to the scene to battle the flames and prevent further spread.
As of late afternoon, fire crews remained on-site, working to extinguish hotspots and ensure the area was safe.
The fire caused delays for motorists along the Hibiscus Coast Highway.
Fire and Emergency did not report any injuries or structural damage caused by the incident.
In a separate, earlier event on Friday, the Manly Fire Station also attended a minor incident at Tindalls Beach.
Crews have reminded the public to remain vigilant during dry and windy conditions, as vegetation fires can escalate quickly.
