State Highway 1 southbound between Silverdale interchange and Oteha Valley Road will be fully closed overnight on Wednesday 1 October from 9pm to 5am.

The closure is part of routine maintenance to keep the motorway safe and in good shape.

The Silverdale southbound on-ramp and Oteha Valley Road southbound off-ramp will also be shut.

Detours will be clearly signposted, sending traffic along Twin Coast Discovery Highway, Dairy Flat Highway and back onto Oteha Valley Road.

For Coasties, it means taking a longer way round if you’re heading to the North Shore at night or returning home after hours.

The closure is set to lift before the Thursday morning rush, but motorists are advised to allow extra travel time.
