A familiar sight at the Silverdale rugby club is currently missing.

The GO Media digital billboard has been removed for an upgrade.

The billboard is being replaced with a new LED screen, expected to be installed in a couple of weeks, according to sources.

The new screen will continue to display static advertisements only, to avoid distracting drivers.

This approach aligns with New Zealand's accepted practise, requiring LED display messages to remain visible for at least 8 seconds before changing to another message in under 1 second.
