Great news for bacon lovers on the Hibiscus Coast.

Sam’s Butchery in Silverdale has just been crowned Supreme Bacon winner at this year’s prestigious 100% New Zealand Bacon & Ham Awards.

Their Naturally Maple Streaky Bacon clinched the top spot, impressing judges with its irresistible aroma and standout flavour.

Puvi Nadason accepted the award on behalf of his father, Sam, acknowledging the dedication behind their win.

“Dad puts in so much hard work, and with the standard getting higher every year, this win really means a lot,” he said.

Judges, including culinary expert Kathy Paterson, praised the bacon's originality.

"It just made you want to start eating it straight away—that's always a good sign," she remarked.

The nationwide competition, judged by a panel of butchers and food experts, saw products evaluated across multiple categories, with Sam’s Butchery ultimately rising to the top.
