Silverdale wins BID by a landslide

Thirty-one percent of the business and property owners in the Silverdale BID area voted yes to becoming a BID.

The Silverdale Business Association needed 25 percent of the property and business owners to return their vote and the support of 51 percent majority of those who voted for a Business Improvement District (BID) to be established.

When voting closed at the end of March, 345 of the 1,094 ballot papers were returned, making it 31.5 percent.

Of the 345 returned votes, 187 voted yes and 157 voted no.

Only one vote was returned blank.

Theo Simeonidis, Chair of the Silverdale Business Association, takes great pride in this achievement.

“Despite the prevailing inflationary pressures, we have remained steadfast in our commitment to delivering exceptional value to our stakeholders,” he says.

“We recognise the importance of maintaining a strong and vibrant business community, and our BID Establishment Campaign is a testament to this commitment.”

Theo is pleased that despite the challenging and uncertain economic climate of the past few years, the BID Establishment Campaign has yielded positive results.

“As we move forward, we remain focused on building on this success, continuing to work diligently to create a business-friendly environment that supports the growth and prosperity of all our members.

We are confident that by working together, we can overcome any challenges that lie ahead and achieve even greater success for Silverdale.”

He advises that with the BID funding available, the association will be vigorously advancing and promoting the interest of all the Silverdale business precincts: Silverdale Entrance, Silverdale Industrial, Silverdale Central, Silverdale Village, Highgate and Millwater.

"We are totally for all Silverdale businesses,” said Theo Simeonidis.
