NZ Transport Agency advises that maintenance work will take place on State Highway 1 (SH1) southbound between Johnstones Hill Tunnels and Silverdale on Sunday 23 April between 9 pm and 5 am.

For ANZAC weekend travel, changes have been made to the road layout on State Highway 1 at Pūhoi. 

NZTA advises if you are travelling through the site please take extra care and follow traffic management directions. 

Expect delays and if possible use State Highway 16 as an alternative route.

The following ramps will also be closed. Signposted detours will be in place.

* Orewa (Grand Drive) southbound off-ramp

* Orewa (Grand Drive) southbound on-ramp

* Millwater (Wainui Road) southbound on-ramp

* Silverdale southbound off-ramp

Please follow the signposted detour via Hibiscus Coast Highway. This will add approximately 12 minutes to your journey.

As the team will be carrying out various maintenance activities, there will be increased noise levels.
